Why Lights On is different

Understanding is useful. Showing up is better.

Most cycle apps help a partner understand what may be happening. Lights On goes one step further: one partner shares a signal and approves what crosses; the other receives clear context and one useful action. Together, they record what actually helped.

From understanding to showing up

Knowing isn’t the same as knowing what to do.

A tracker can explain what may be happening. Lights On helps turn that context into one useful thing a partner can do today.

Every action follows one rule: something a person can actually do today.

The old loop

“Are you okay?”

One vague question can send the decision straight back.

A clear action

Keep contact simple

One text when you go, one when you're back.

The daily ritual

Private signal. Useful action. Real feedback.

The outcome comes back. That is what turns a line into a loop.

01

She signals

I’m open, Check in, or Need space—in one tap.

02

She approves

The suggestion stays private until it sounds right.

03

They act and log

One clear instruction becomes something useful in real life.

04

She sees what happened

Landed, partly, or not yet—either answer is fine.

Practical by design

Actions, not advice.

No emotional homework. No system language. Just a clear action with a finish line.

Menstrual · Open

“Tell her one concrete thing she handled this week that you noticed. The actual thing — not that she's amazing.”

Ovulatory · Space

“One text when you go, one when you're back.”

Luteal · Open

“Don't ask her to decide anything.”

Real actions, written in plain English.

Relationship history

The outcome comes back.

Your partner logs what they tried. You close the loop with what actually happened: Landed, Partly, Missed, or Not done.

Over time, that creates a private record of what was tried and what happened—without turning care into a scorecard.

The partner view

Useful, not managed.

Oliver doesn’t get a chart to decode or a mood to fix. He gets one clear, approved thing he can do—and a simple way to close the loop.

  • One action, not a dashboard
  • Concrete enough to complete
  • Private context stays private

Learn together

Context, without the lecture.

A calm reference for the four phases and the six everyday areas they can affect. Today’s action stays simple; Learn is there when you want the wider picture.

Consent is the mechanic

Private until you say otherwise.

Maya chooses the signal. She sees the suggestion first. She can approve it, edit it, or reject it. Her partner receives only what she chose to send.

01

You choose what to share.

02

Every suggestion is reviewed first.

03

You control phase and mood visibility.

04

Unpair safely. Keep what’s yours.

Context can help. The person still knows themselves best.

Good questions

Before you switch the light on.

Is Lights On a period tracker?

No. Tracking can explain what may be happening. Lights On is built to turn a chosen daily signal into one practical act of care.

Does my partner see everything?

No. They see only what you choose to share: your signal, the phase context, and the approved action. Your personal notes and journal stay private.

What if an action misses?

Log what happened: Landed, Partly, Missed, or Not done. A miss is information, not punishment.

Does it depend on a perfectly regular cycle?

No. The daily signal is chosen by the person using the app. It does not ask a calendar to speak for them.

Is Lights On medical advice?

No. Lights On is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. It is designed to support communication and connection between partners. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical concerns.
