Lights On

Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Lights On mobile application ("the app", "Lights On"), developed and operated by Steve Frame ("the Developer", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

For questions about these Terms, contact us at support@lightson.love.

1. Who can use Lights On

You must be at least 18 years old to use Lights On. By using the app, you confirm that you are 18 or older. The app is intended for adults in a relationship who choose to share cycle-related information with a connected partner.

2. What Lights On is — and is not

Lights On is a relationship and wellbeing app that helps couples understand and respond to each other across the menstrual cycle. It provides general, phase-based guidance and lets one partner choose what information to share with another.

Lights On is not a medical device, a contraceptive, a fertility or pregnancy planning tool, or a diagnostic service. It does not provide medical advice. Cycle phases and suggestions are estimates based on the information you enter and should not be relied upon for medical decisions, contraception, or conception. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical concerns. You use the app's guidance at your own discretion.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

4. Connecting with a partner

Lights On lets you connect with one partner using a pairing code. When connected, each person sees only what the other chooses to share through the app's sharing controls.

You may disconnect from a partner at any time. Disconnecting immediately stops all sharing between you, and your pairing code changes so that reconnecting requires you to share a new code. You are responsible for who you choose to connect and share information with.

5. Subscriptions and payment

Lights On offers optional paid subscription features. Subscription fees, billing periods, and what each subscription includes are shown at the time of purchase within the app.

Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, according to their terms. Payment, renewals, and cancellations are managed through your app store account, not by us directly. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in line with app store policies. To cancel or manage a subscription, use your App Store or Google Play account settings.

Refunds are handled by the applicable app store under their refund policies. We do not separately process payments and generally cannot issue refunds directly.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Your content and information

You retain ownership of the information you enter into the app. By using the app, you grant us the limited permission necessary to store and process your information to provide the app's features, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Our handling of your personal and health-related information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of your agreement with us.

8. Deleting your account

You may delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, cycle, mood, and preference data. See the Privacy Policy for details on what deletion involves.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the app running reliably but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time. We may also update these Terms; when we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date, and significant changes may be communicated in-app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that guidance provided by the app is accurate, complete, or suitable for your circumstances.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, or for any decisions made in reliance on the app's guidance. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the Developer's place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply.
